PASADENA ARTWALK, SAN GABRIEL’S LARGEST URBAN ART FAIR RETURNS SATURDAY, OCTOBER 12 FROM 11 AM – 5 PM

Pasadena, CA (October 2013) -- The 8th Annual Pasadena ArtWalk, Saturday, October 12 from 11 am until 5 pm at 25 S. El Molino, offers a day of free arts and culture. Leisurely stroll through the open-air art market and view original works from over 30 artists, participate in hands-on activities, and listen to sounds of jazz. Enjoy free museum admission, art stroll and more. The Pasadena ArtWalk is free and all-ages.

The Pasadena ARTWalk is a juried art festival that offers attendees the opportunity to view one-of-a-kind art pieces and meet established and up-and-coming artists. This year, over 30 participating artists will showcase their work. From painting to photography, ceramics and new media the event will have something for all art lovers to enjoy. More than 3,000 works of original art will be featured at the Pasadena ARTWalk. Event special features include free museum admission to Pacific Asia Museum and discounted admission, $2 to the Pasadena Museum of California Art. In addition, to the participation in Big Draw L.A. The Big Draw L.A. is a public drawing celebration spanning Southern California and linked to Big Draw events worldwide during the month of October. Join us in this fun paper-craft "Doodlebugs & Jitterbugs."

“The Playhouse District Association is a focal point for culture, commerce and community, whichis proud to host the very popular ArtWalk in conjuction with Pasadena ArtWeekend. This event brings thousands of art lovers and enthusiast to the District. ArtWalk provides a beautiful outdoor setting along El Molino Avenue and a myriad of free activities for the family, highlights include:

ArtStroll

ArtStroll offers art enthusiasts a feast for the senses. Take part in the self-guided architectural tour and view the pedestrian street art in the historic District.

Hands-on Activity Village

Everyone can create their own master piece with a variety of fun and creative activities in the hands-on activity village. The village offers interactive stations featuring canvas painting, paper sculptures and more.

Entertainment

Afrotango Ensemble headlines the El Molino Stage. The group achieves a unique Tango-Jazz sonority, distinguishing itself from any other modern tango group today. The ensemble accomplishes an authentic sound by tackling masterpieces from the classic and modern Tango repertoire while incorporating jazz improvisation to make each performance unique

Free Museum Admission

The Pacific Asia Museum will offer free complimentary admission to all ARTWalk attendees. Pasadena Museum of California Art (PMCA) will offer reduced price $2 admission.

About the Pasadena ARTWalk

The Pasadena ARTWalk is San Gabriel Valley’s largest urban art fair. The Pasadena ARTWalk features over 30 participating visual artists in a festival atmosphere, an ArtStroll, free museum admission, hands-on activities, entertainment, a self guided walking tour and a lot more.
