Americafest 2012! @ the Rose Bowl

86th Annual 4th of July celebration at the Rose Bowl.

There is nothing like fireworks on the Fourth of July and the Pasadena Rose Bowl seems to do them better than most each and every year.  The Fireworks Spectacular at the Rose Bowl is better known as Americafest and from the family fun in the early afternoon (entertainment, crafts, exhibits and inflatable rides) to the motorcycle jumping, the Drum Corps , flyover and 30-minute pyrotechnic show (that is choreographed and produced by Pyrospectaculars) there is no hotter ticket in Sothern California. So mark your calendar and plan on being in Pasadena on the 4th of July. Because Pasadena & Americafest are going to light up the night sky this coming Wednesday night. .

Attached is a schedule, how to get tickets and a note about parking fees (see below).

Locals note:

Then again if you are not into all the flair, you can hang with all the locals on the Colorado Street Bridge.  It’s no secret anymore, people from all over southern California come and park at the Pasadena Elks lodge and then walk to bridge to watch the fireworks. This local site provides an awesome view of the fireworks and it is easier to  leave the Pasadena area once the fireworks are over. Try to get there by 8ish. The bridge and the Elks Lodge fill up quickly.

Mr. Pasadena says:  For me – I love Americafest by day and I love to watch the fireworks from the bridge at night. Join me at Americafest and stay to watch the fireworks at the Rose Bowl or join me on the bridge. Either way I know you will have a grand time.
