Pasadena Weekly voted Mr. Pasadena as the Best Personality of 2016!

Mr. Pasadena Wins!

I won Pasadena Weekly’s Best Local Personality of 2016 and it's still hard to believe that I won.

I remember talking to my friend, Elle Lyn, who said “why haven’t you already put yourself out to do this?” and I had to think about it. I guess I never really thought about doing it, as far as recognition goes. I was always very happy with the recognition I got, from my twitter followers, from my blog followers my friends my family, anyone that follow me on Instagram. I really appreciated everything that they gave back to me. I never thought for once that I should put myself out there for a vote, and vote they did! I don’t know if it was a landslide victory or not, but what I do know is that they voted me in, and I beat out some rather heavy weights out here that are known as the personalities of Pasadena. So I’m incredibly thankful.

I know I’m going to use this victory as a way to inspire me to do better and to do more for Pasadena, I’m going to continue to highlight all the things that are going on in Pasadena, and just do what I do but with a renewed sense of energy.

We’ve been doing this for 7 years and it’s not that it lost it’s luster, but I will say that having won this award, I truly feel energized to do more.

I’m looking forward to doing more events with the Meetup group, and I’m looking forward to working with other people in Pasadena to help with their events and to bring recognition to all the new places that are coming about, not to mention all the places I love, and to keep reminding people that if you love a place, you need to go and patronize that place as much as you can, and remind your friends to go there too. Just because it’s an oldie but a goodie, doesn’t mean that it’s gonna last, purely because of the fact that there is so much influx of new things, sometimes you forget some of the great things about them, and then they have to leave because they can’t pay the bills. They have to leave town due to the fact that nobody is coming in anymore, everybody is going to another place.

Let me tell you, the competition in Pasadena to survive as a restaurant is incredible. Lets just say you’re a  pizza place, or a hamburger place, or a Chinese food place, or sandwich place, the competition is fierce here. There’s some really good places here in Pasadena that you can find, and you really have to go to them. If you love them that much.

I always share my opinions with you, you gotta go out and remind your friends “hey this is a great place, this is a great bar, this is a great pizza, we really need to come here more, or more often, or figure out a way to have maybe have an event at that location, you know have a 40th birthday party, have a Quinceañera somewhere, someplace you know and love, cause the competition is really, really heavy here, and I think that’s my main focus has always been on restaurants. I’m doing the best I can to highlight what's going on but truly, the restaurants we know and love, they're going to leave if we don't get behind them, in some form or fashion. And so to the places that I do really like, I try and highlight as often as I can, as well as letting people know about the new ones, because they’re just as good, and in some cases maybe some are better. And I gotta review them,  I have heard a lot of good things about a lot of places and it’s up to me to review then.

In closing, I can't thank, all my friends, family my followers, enough. Like I said, I'm focused on making this and awesome 2016 rounding out the holidays. Look towards Mr. Pasadena doing Wine Winter Wonderland deux, coming in December. I'm also looking forward to doing a lot of other events. But most definitely, we are going to bring this out with a bang in 2016 and for 2017 I'm gonna work really hard to, not only do my best, but I think I'm actually gonna work really hard to get people to vote too. I want to let people know that I'm I'm here to stay and I want to do everything I can to continue make this a great Pasadena.

Thank you so much for your support these 7 years, and I will continue to do more. Thank you so much, take care, bye-bye.
